If you can believe it:  20th FEGS (May 29-June 2, 2009)

Larry Guest performed his second czar routine at the Reunion Resort near Orlando. We had spotty thunderstorms during Friday warmup round on the Reunion Palmer course, but just hot and humid for the three tournament rounds on Reunion Watson's Independence course (lots and lots of sand) on Saturday, Reunion Nicklaus on Sunday and Monday's last round at Nicklaus' New Course at Grand Cypress.

We honored the four Fegs who have attended all 20 events by naming them captains of the four teams.  (In further tribute, the teams were named for other charter members who were not able to attend XX: C. David, John M., Pete B. and Mike Coors Lite).  After three literally hot tournament rounds, LT's team (w/Jack O., Czar Larry, Coop and Feglet Joe O.) won with 32 points, followed by Walter (w/Capt. Mike, the Mayor, Box Canyon and Feglet Wags) at 28 points, then Will (w/Don N., Tony P., Frank D. and Reid) at 21.5 points and then Duffster (w/Darrell C., Craig A., George B. and returning Joe J.) with 8.5 points.

Tony P. earned the XX champion's title, getting the maximum 9 points in his three matches.  Followed by Capt. Mike (7.5), Feglet Joe O. and Jack O. (7) and Feglet Wags and Coop (6.5).

Low net was Capt. Mike at 212 (there goes his 7-handicap), followed by Wags (215), Tony P. and Jack O. (217) and Box Canyon (220). Low Gross was Capt. Mike again (233), 10 shots ahead of second-place Don N. (243), then Tony P. and Jack O. (244), Duff (261) and Larry T. (263).

There were 13 skins, with two each by Capt. Mike and Coop, then one each for Larry T., Jack O., Joe J., Box Canyon, Frank D., George B., Reid M., Don N. amd Duff.

Meanwhile, this is the year's theme song:
